Cultural differences and the complexity of the project network are likely to cause unexpected deviations from project plans. Learning to understand cultural differences is a long-lasting process.

This and much more is part of the conference which is organized by the Project Management Association of Iceland. The association was founded in 1984 and is one of the most successful member associations in the IPMA family. If I put the membership and certification figures in correlation to the population of the whole country it is the most successful one!! Don't miss the conference, I am really looking forward to meeting all of you at this event.

The importance of international projects is ever growing. To overcome a currently challenging economical period at the internal Icelandic market, Icelandic companies and individuals increasingly seek new opportunities abroad. How do you say "project manager" in Icelandic?

Icelandic is not the easiest language to learn, anyone attempting to learn just few words or pronouncing the name of a new Icelandic colleague can testify this. Project management is a real buzz phenomenon in Iceland as the demand for project managers is steadily increasing more and more professionals are seeking education and certification in the field. Do you know how to say Project Management or Project Manager in Icelandic?

VSF

The Icelandic Project Management Association (VSF) was founded in 1984. Ever since VSF's goal has been to support the development and use of best practices in project management in Iceland. VSF is a member of IPMA and manages the IPMA certification in Iceland. The association's membership grows steadily every year and currently VSF has about 500 members, individuals and organisations alike.
